Our Professional Team
Donna Seminara, MD, MACP
Dr. Seminara is the founder of Island Internist PC. Her work in advocating for her patients and profession has led her to leadership positions on the local, state and national levels. She has received numerous awards recognizing her professional leadership and high clinical standards. Her favorite professional activity, however, is the time she spends with patients and the development of long term relationships with them. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. She also is Director of Geriatrics at SIUH/ Northwell Health and Medical Director at Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Larisa Malisova, DO, FACP
Dr. Malisova spent her entire professional career at Island Internists. She is fellowship trained in Geriatric Medicine. She has years of experience as a physician at local nursing homes (Clove Lakes Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and Staten Island Care Center.) She also practices at the Coney Island Hospital Ambulatory Clinic. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.
John Maese, MD, MACP
Dr. Maese brings a wealth of experience to the practice. He worked in Emergency Medicine for five years and also has years of Urgent Care experience. Furthermore he has a deep understanding of how health systems work having been Chief Medical Officer of several local hospitals and a Medical Director for insurance plans. This expertise helps in crafting plans for complex patients with a multitude of medical needs. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Emergency Medicine and Quality Assurance.
Clare Brown, FNP-BC
Clare is the newest member of our professional team. She is board certified practitioner with years of experience as an ICU/Critical Care Nurse. She joins the team to provide expanded hours to see patients on an urgent and ongoing basis, provide counseling services and support on our Home Visit Program.
